My wife and I will be taking a quick trip to Germany, I'm retired military and will be going Space A, and want to see the Black Forest. Could anyone recommend hotels/restaurants for a quick 4-5 day trip.

Places I've been to and would recommend (all in the northern Black Forest):
Calw (Home of Herrman, Steppenwolf, Hesse, pron. Culf)
Bad Wildbad
Bad Herrenalb
Freudenstadt
Alpirsbach
I've also taken the scenic train route up the Gutach River from Hausach to Triberg and on to Donaueschingen. Years ago I was in Titisee; thought it was very touristy. Changed trains in Freiburg i.B., but didn't see anything, just the train station.

Oberkirch is a beautiful village that I've stayed in twice. First time in Romantik Hotel Zur Oberen Linde. Is very nice, but a bit on the high end of cost.
Also stayed at Hotel/Gasthof Ochsen, about half the cost of the other one and a bit plain. Both have good restaurants that specialize in Black Forest Trout. Lots of the locals meet & eat at the Ochsen.
Freiburg is a large city (w/lots of university students) but very walkable with many good hotels & restaurants plus interesting places to visit.
