Bikes in Caen?

So I need to get between Caen and Bayeux on a sunday at 3pm (need to arrive in bayuex by 530pm). There is a gap in train service at that time according to the German rail website (which is the best for time tables anywhere in europe in my opinion). So, being a pretty avid biker, I want to bike it: http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=4693443 So first, Am I crazy? It looks really flat and 18 miles on a bike is like nothing. Also it would be nice to ride through the french countryside. Second, and more importantly, where do I get a bike? Are there rental places in Caen? one of those 24 hour bike kiosks would be awesome. I'll be taking the train back after dinner and will want to drop the bike off before i return to my hotel. Thanks all!

We drove between the two a couple of weeks ago, and yes, you are right, it is pretty flat. However, you'd want to take the back roads instead of the highway. Would train times allow you to take the train back to Caen and put the bike on the train. You'd have to ride back in the dark otherwise which isn't advisable.

There's a frontage road right along the highway for almost all of the trip, and yeah the train times definitely facilitate putting my bike on the train, i just need to figure out where to rent a bike!
