Bike Tour Paris

My family and I just returned from a trip to Paris. I wanted to share one of the highlights of our trip. It was a bike tour with Bike About Tours. They take small groups around Paris, mostly back streets. We were with Paul one of the owners. Not only does he take the group to some of the usual tourist spots, he also takes you to lesser known places and has interesting anecdotes about these areas. We learned so much about Paris past, present and future. What really impressed us was how he took care of everyone in the group right from safety to helping each of us order lunch at his favorite cafe. He made the tour so much fun we didn't want it to end. This tour is a few euros more than the Fat Tire Bike Tour. We did take a Fat Tire Tour and though we enjoyed it, we felt the Bike About Tour was worth the extra few euros because of the small group and personal touch. I can't imagine seeing Paris any other way!

Can you give us their web site? I am going to Paris June 23 and was going to take the Fat Bike tour my first full day. But I like the sound of the tour you did.
I am taking their Versille bike tour though.
thanks

Thanks Brad. That is the correct web site.

We heard the trip to Versaille is very good. We chose to do the night tour with Fat Tire Bike. It really was nice to ride through Paris in the evening. The city is so spectacular with all the lights. Be aware the groups are large and they do travel quite a bit on the main roads. We had a couple from a small town in our group and they were a bit uneasy because of all the traffic and you do become separated sometimes (don't worry not for long and you won't get lost).

We did the Bike About Tour the morning after we arrived in Paris. It was a great way to get familiar with all the districts in Paris as well as get an idea where all the popular tourist attractions are. They mainly stick to back streets. We had 11 in our group. I don't think they takes more than 12 and its easy to stay together. It's a more informative tour as well as fun.

Both companies have something different to offer. We just perferred Bike About, again, because of the "personal touch".

Have fun!
