i was wondering if anyone has any advice on traveling from paris to barcelona around christmas? I saw on a website that the 'Joan Miro' train hotel is an option, an overnight trip from paris to barcelona. should i look into air flights? any other trains? i'm only planning to go to paris and then spain for a total of 10 days.. so the eurorail didn't seem like it would be worth it. thanks!
Fly...but book your tickets ASAP....vueling, a low-cost Spanish airline, flies CDG-BCN, as does easyjet from Orly-BCN. Anywhere from about 45 to 75 Euro each way, depending on exactly when you're flying and how early you book.www.vueling.com, www.easyjet.com
There is another night train option: Corail Lunea from Paris to Port Bou, a 90-minute layover, and a regional train to Barcelona. You can see the timetables for both the hotel train and the route I just gave at sncf.com. You can book the hotel train there and you can book the Corail Lunea Paris-Port Bou leg there, but not the Port Bou-Barcelona leg. If booked far enough in advance (up to three months), discount fares are available for both the hotel train and the Lorail Lunea train. To compare fares now, enter a date within three months of today.
