Best way to travel from Barcelona to Sevilla

Hi we are a couple flying into Barcelona and out of Madrid. This is our plan Barcelona > Sevilla>Granada>Cordoba>Madrid. We will be rounding these up in time crunch of 10 days(excluding travel times) what is the best way to travel from Barcelona to Sevilla? Train vs Flight. We had flight in mind for the sake of time constraint. Which is cheaper and fast mode of transport. Where to book the flights? Checking Renfe.com for trains. This is in November. Any sort of help will be appreciated. Also, is there a better route to save time than I mentioned in sequence?

We did pretty much that trip, in that order, last May, with the addition of Toledo, but we had fourteen days. It was fantastic. We did all travel by train, buying tickets in advance on Renfe and getting the Web discounts (60% off). We went from Barcelona to Sevilla by AVE train, via Madrid. Depending on the change time at Madrid, the trip is around 5.5 hours. Barcelona to Madrid was 47 euro with the Web fare; I think Madrid to Sevilla was around 35 euro for the Web fare. If you buy them as one trip the price may be different. The AVE trains are fast, comfortable, and very convenient. If you compare flight time and costs, remember to add the cost of travel to and from the airports, and the extra time needed to go through airport security.

we did a similar trip last year, but flew from Barcelona to Granada for about $60 on Spanair, and we arrived at noon (1.5 hours to fly vs. 11 hours on the train, seems the train fair was over 100 euros as well.) from there to Sevilla, then Cordoba and Madrid. I say we paid $60 for our flight, but if we'd waited a day or two to book the same flight was going for $18 on Expedia! Have a wonderful time in Spain. Ruth

I took an overnight sleeper train from Barcelona to Sevilla and liked it very much. It was off-season and I bought my sleeper berth in a 4-person cabin the day before.
