Best way to get from Amsterdam to Northern England?

I will be spending 4 nights in Paris and then plan on spending a couple days in Amsterdam before going back home to Northern England. I will be flying from Edinburgh to Paris and I don't want to travel back to Paris from Amsterdam to fly back home. What is the best/cheapest way to go back?

I imagine there are numerous flights each day from Amsterdam to various cities in northern England. Amsterdam Schiphol airport is extremely easy to get to from the city center. Check out Skyscanner.net to explore flight possibilities-- you can probably find a quite cheap one-way flight that suits your needs.

Hi, Are you in the mood for taking the ferry from Ijmuiden (next to Amsterdam) to Newcastle? It's over 16 hours, which is a bit of a haul depending on your time schedule. I don't know the exact days this ferry sails.

Last year we took the night ferry from Hull to Rotterdam; it does a return trip and with room it was a real deal. If you go to www.seat61 he has all the details.
This year we took it from Hoek in the NL to the south of England and then trained to the Liverpool station. We had our grand son with us and we had a grand time.
