I know people have discussed this before, but I'm still confused. The RS book says the Versailles lePasseport covers the cost of RER, chateau and Trianon entrances, audioguide and gardens (even during fountain shows). But an earlier poster (in March) said that's wrong. Has anyone been recently and can tell me the best way to do all of these on Saturday 6? Best way means with the least waiting in lines and hopefully the cheapest. Also, has anyone recently done one of the bicycle tours in Versailles and what was your impression (price, hassle factor, info provided, etc.)? Thanks!
That's June 6, sorry!
I haven't been recently, but my family is planning to go to Versailles in July. If you go to the Paris guidebook updates on this site, you can verify that the LePasseport including the RER transportation is no longer available. At the Versailles web site, you can buy one day tickets that include everything you listed except the RER, and print the tickets at home (actually I'm not positive about the fountains-we aren't going on a weekend). I did this with no problems. It did take a few minutes for the printable file to work (a link was emailed that at first didn't work), but within a few minutes I could print the tickets. I think (I hope) that with advanced tickets purchased, you won't have to stand in line as long.
