Anyone have the best train trip for seeing the beauty of Switzerland out of Zurich? Also, anyone ever been to Davos-Platz? Anything to see or do there, except ski since it will be Sept?
Any favorite restaurants in Brussels?

Lucerne is only about 1 hour away, and it is very beautiful city. Must you base yourself in Zurich?

No, but we are novices and will also go to Davos-platz for accomadations.

Lucerne is absolutely beyond gorgeous. We were there in 1970 and are finally getting the chance to go back to Zurich and Lucerne in June.

Nancy - I have been to Davos in September. Maybe I was there the wrong day but that city was dead as can be awaiting the Ski season. Very glad I arrived at 5pm and was out of there at 8 am the next morning. Just my own opinion.
In regards to train trips from Zurich - 1. Are you doing round trip? 2. how long do you want to go for?

You should be able hike in Davos, although like the other poster mentioned, its more of a ski resort town.
