Best scenary route to drive from Zurich to Frankfurt

There only is one route and it also is very scenic: From FRA follow A5 all the way South to Basel. Freeway passes Heidelberg, the Black Forrest, Baden-Baden, Freiburg i. Brsg. all of which are most worthwhile. Basel, too, is worthwhile. From Basel it's about an hour's drive to ZRH.

First, if I wanted to see the scenery, not the road, I would take the train, not drive.

My route? Go from Zurich to Schaffhausen and see the Rheinfalls, then go to Donaueschingen and from there via the Schwarzwaldbahn to Hausach. From Hausach go up the Kinzig via Alpirsbach to Freudenstadt. From Freudenstadt, either go down the Murg to Baden-Baden and from there to Frankfurt, or go to Hochdorf and down the Nagold, taking in Calw, home of Herman (Steppenwolf) Hesse, to Pforzheim, then on to Frankfurt. The northern Black Forest is lovely; don't miss it.
