Best route from Brugge to Zurich

Will be in Brugge Sat. June 30 then need to go to Zurich.
Go by day or night? Traveling with a 17 and 14 year old.
Thanks, Andrea

If you wish to do it as daytime journey, it will take about 9 1/2 hours. There is a direct train from Brussels-Nord to Zurich departing at 12:24pm arrives 20:24. If you want to do it as an overnight train, you have a bunch of options: Take the City Nightline tain(http://www.citynightline.ch) from Amsterdam at 20:30 and arrive in Zurich at 8:22am. Or you can make your way to Paris Nord station and take the overnight from there. City Nightline is much more comfortable.

My daughter and I took the night train from Paris Nord to Zurich...I would not do that again.

My suggestion is Brussels to Zurich as the 1st poster suggested. Perhaps an earlier on if poossible to enjoy all the scenery.

JB,

Can you explain your experience with the night train and why you wouldn't chose that again?

I've only taken one night train before about twenty years ago, so I am very curious about the experience overall.

Glad to.

The bunks were high. We had to climb the ladders to get to the beds.

No air so had to open the window; therefore, the noise.

Bumpyier (lol new word)than any other train we rode in Europe (8 weeks).

I have heard the CNL (City Night Lines) are much better. They are sleeper cars I assume.

Actualy, we had more room in may compartments on other trains.

In summary, we felt like we were stuffed in a closet. It was just my daughter and I in our room.
