Do you have any inexpensive lunch or dinner suggestions in Rothenburg? We will be there on Friday and Saturday, 26-27 December. Thanks!
Rothenburg seems blessed with reasonably price, reasonably good food. We liked the Gasthof Goldener Greifen.

Gary, thanks for the suggestion!
Any others?
What about local bakeries?
The streets are lined with reasonble priced restaurants and bakeries. We had no prob finding places. I wish the rest of europe was as reasonble.
As said above there are many good cafes. I liked the Mandelhörnchen (pastry) in the Stehcafe (standing cafe/bakery) just across from the Gasthof Greifen. My family enjoyed just about everything that we had there.
Like a lot of folks, my wife wanted to try one of their Schneekügelen (snowballs). They are everywhere. We did not care for the one that we sampled.

My wife and I loved the food at the Altfrankische Weinstube am Klosterhof. Great food and very friendly! Off the beaten path a bit, but found it in Rick's Germany book. We also really enjoyed our meal at the Gasthof Rodertor and ate at the Goldener Greifen (we stayed there), though that was our third favorite.
