We are going to Beaune tomorrow and are winging it for several days. Anyone have recommendations on romantic, good value places to stay there? Thanks in advance
Hi Jeff,
We were in Beaune in January. We stayed at a budget option, Hotel de France right across from the train station. A good value but basic and not romantic.
We walked by the Hotel des Remparts and I thought that it looked very nice. It also has good reviews on Trip Advisor: Hotel des Remparts
If you don't have a car it's not far to walk there from the train station.
I stayed at Hotel des Remparts. It was great the people were nice and helpful. Many people asked where we were staying and when they heard they commented on how that is one of the nicest in Beaune at a fair price. Walking distance to everything here. If you travel light you will not have a problem walking to the hotel from the train station. If you get a car check out Chateau Rochepote (check Rick's book for address and proper spelling)
If you have no car then the wine tour that is booked at the T.I. is a nice way to see the country. There is great wine tasting available in town as well. This will become your favorite village in France!
Jeff,
I stayed at Hotel Le Clos on a Rick Steve's our and loved it. It is not in the town of Beaune but it is nearby. The rooms were really nice. Ours was a two story room with a sitting area. Next door was a nice restaurant that the tour took us to for dinner.
Thanks all. We stayed at Les Ramparts for 120 Euro in a very nice room and it was lovely. We stayed there for two nights. Then we stayed at Villa Louise in Alex-Corton and it was awesome. It is a beautiful place and comparably priced. I would recommend both.
Thanks for the update Jeff! It's nice to hear the outcome! I hope that you enjoyed your stay in Beaune.
