When we travel on our honeymoon this September and early October, our flight home will be from Paris. We are arriving in Paris a day earlier than our flight leaves, and we'll have one day and one night in the city. Our plan is to just be in Paris: do the city walk down the Champs-Elysses, eat in a Parisian Cafe, and of course go to the Eiffel Tower. Our question relates to a hotel in the vicinity. We are not sure what would be the best neighborhood for a day on foot in Paris. Perhaps Rue Cler or the Marais neighborhood? Does anyone have a specific hotel to suggest? Thanks in advance for your input!
Since it is your honeymoon and you have such little time, why not stay in the St-Germain-des-Prés / Latin Quarter area, very close to the RER stop at Saint-Michel or Luxembourg? That RER stop puts you directy on the train to CDG airport the next day. You would be very close to Notre-Dame and the Seine, in a vibrant neighbourhood. Easy walk to Ile Saint-Louis, the Marais, and the Louvre. A quick hop to the Eiffel Tower. There are many very nice cafes & restaurants along the Boulevard Saint-Germain and surrounding streets. Hotel Littré would be a nice choice.
Please read the "Just one night in Paris, which neighborhood is best?" thread which is just below yours at the moment.
Hotel Lutece on Ile St Louis looks very nice with a perfect location. Great little restaurant l'Orangerie is nearby as well as Berthillon.
