best home base ( interlaken, wengen or grindelwald)

i have two days in the berner oberland area... where would be the best area to stay. interlaken vrs one of the higher elevation locations. also any suggestions on lift train day trips thanks gary

I would recommend Wengen or Murren. Both are small and charming and the views are magnificent. Interlaken is, IMO, a place to change trains. I did not care for Grindelwald but I suppose it would be an okay place during ski season. From W and M you can take trips to the Jungfrau and Schiltorn. And the hiking is wonderful from these little towns-a real joy to walk in the alps.
