I'll be in Paris for 2 weeks in October and planning a side trip to Bayeux. Are there any days of the week better than others for that trip to the D-Day beaches? I'm hoping to take a Battlebus tour. Thank you.

I think Battlebus has a rule that you cannot sleep in Paris and take one of their tours. If you go to their site you can get their statement on that.

I would suggest calling Battlebus asap and find out when they are giving the tour you want to take and plan around that. The tours are very popular and fill up fast. I don't know about October, but we went in September last year and could not get our first choice of tours even though I e-mailed them a few months before we left.

Kent is right - the last time I checked (which I just confirmed at their website), you can only stay at a place that is less than 50 miles away the night before the tour. So you would have to spend the night in Normandy (or some nearby place) that night.
