My 15 year old wants a beach day. We will be in Barcelona and I think we will go over to San Sebastion, Spain. Where should I stick in a beach day? Might get a car for the day ... or travel by local transporatation. I was thinking of Northern Spain or Southern France from Barcelona or Bidart or Bairritz north of San Sebastian... thoughts? After the beach we move on to Loire Valley, then Paris. THANKS.

From Barcelona you can take the train to Stiges. About a 30 minute train ride down the coast. Stiges is a really nice beach town with a great beach. Beaches around Barcelona are not that nice.

Also, check out Tossa de mar and l'estartit and illes medes. I haven't been there, but we are planning a trip this summer and those are some of the beaches north of Barcelona that we are looking at.
