Best Affordable place to stay if you are training into Munich, Germany?

My daughter and I will be in Munich for 3 nights from August 31 through night of Sept 2nd. And would like to stay somewhere walking with luggage from a train line, but near the Englisher Gardens. Any suggestions? Thanks, Erin

We got a hot deal at the Novotel Messe recently. It's a short 20 min. train ride from the HBF and gardens. Big mall with grocery store and restaurants next to it as well.
