Bernina pass

I would like to know if I could travel from Paris and pass through Switzerland and end in Milan, I will like to pass through Switzerland in the day so I could see some view and like to the experienced Bernina pass any suggestion would be appreciated, I'm traveling by train I going to traveling in a couple of weeks

The answer is yes, but you'd have to have the endurance of world class athlete. The normal route would be Gare de Lyon via Torino (Turin) in about 7 hours or sometimes 8. If you can depart Gare de l'Est at 06:24 you can get there via Chur and Tirano in 15 hours and 16 minutes with 4 changes and arrive at Milano at 21:40. You will need to be through ticketed as you only have 6 minutes for the connection at Chur. I will attempt to put the itinerary in the next message as it may not fit here: To be continued....

Milano Centrale We, 04.05.11 arr 21:40 so it can be done in one really long hard slog..... note these are probably the local normal trains from Chur to Tirano not the fancy Bernina Express ones, and its is a regional train into Milano so no reservations available. Happy planning...

Thank you very, very much, I wish I had started this search a couple of month ago I didn't know about Rick Steve's I thought he had only traveling books
