We wanted to take Bernina Express from Tirano to St Moritz - and on to Luzern or Zurich in same day -on a Monday in May and see that the Bernina Express does not run that morning, but regional trains do. Is there any/much difference between the two in terms of the route, views, comfort?

Hello. My husband and I took the William Tell from Lucerne to Lugao. That was part paddle wheeler and part train. Then in reverse, we took the Bernina Express from Lugano and ended up in Zurich. We loved the beginning of the Bernina Express. It was actually a long bus ride around Lake Magiorre. Talk about scenery. Then we took two trains through the Alps over to Zurich. We did the Bernina Express all in one long day. The bus ride around the lake was as beautiful as the train through the Alps.
