My wife and I are heading to Switzerland in June. I am debating between purchasing a Swiss Pass and Swiss Flexipass. I understand that both passes completely cover travel up to Wengen and Mürren. However, do these covered trips use up a day of the Swiss Flexipass?
You are purchasing a Swiss Pass AND a FlexPass?
With the Flex Pass, you can choose whether to use a "travel day" (fully covered), or use the half-fare option---which doesn't use a travel day.
If I were traveling from, say, Zürich to Wengen, I would use a day on my Flex Pass to cover that journey. If traveling from, say Lauterbrunnin up to Wengen or Mürren to look around or go for a hike , I would not use a travel day for that---I would purchase a ticket using the half-far option that comes with the Flex Pass.
I hope this helps.
Lola's answer is excellent. If you decide to go up to the Jungfraujoch or Schilthorn, use the 50% option on your flexi-pass as no Swiss pass or card will cover you fully to those locations. For most of the local travel in the Interlaken/Lauterbrunnen Valley area, CLICK HERE to see local fares.
Thank you both for the assistance. That answers my question.
