Berlin to Munich - two days, one night

We have one last open night on our way from Berlin to Munich for our return home. Only thing currently on the agenda is Dachau. Any suggestions on stops from Berlin to Dachau area and where to spend that last night? Thanks much!

Without question a must-see is Rothenburg ob Der Tauber, a superb medieval town, and an overnight stay would be a unique experience to see the Night Watchman. From there, it is about 3 hours to Munich.
