Berlin sightseeing

I have 2-3 days in Berlin. Any suggestions on how to approach the sightseeing. Any good restaurants, etc

Your post is way too vague for anyone to make any suggestions.

While there we did the bus/walking tour as outlined in Rick's book and it was wonderful! Saw a lot of the highlights of main parts of Berlin. The view from the Victory Column was nice. We were a bit unimpressed with the climb to the top of the Reichstag, especially with the long wait in line. Lots of good restaurants everywhere, we ate at a great Indian restaurant in Prenzlauerberg (sp?).

The local transportation system in Berlin was fabulous, so no worries on getting around!

As far as HOW to see Berlin, we did the double-decker city bus trip. It was a hop-on hop-off tour. Actually, we did it two days; the first trip we decided what we wanted to go back to and visit more in-depth.

As far as WHAT to see in Berlin, the options are too numerous to mention, or to think about in your time allowance. Check it out from the bus and pick and choose. You won't be able tosee it all - that's what return trips are for!

As for the Reichstag, we saw that late in the afternoon with hardly any line. Find out when it is least busy. It's worth the trip IMHO.

Doing a walking tour will show you more in depth the sights of Berlin and tell you lots of interesting history too. Rick mentions several in his book.

We have done three of the Insider tours. The main walk, Potsdam and Sachsenhausen Concentration camp. I hope to do the 3rd Reich and the Cold war the next time I get up to Berlin.

All 3 companies cost about the same and are equally good from what I hear.
