Berlin, Prague & Vienna B & B recommendations

We plan to be in Berlin, Prague & Vienna in April for the first time (5 nights, exclusive of travel time,in each)and are trying to decide areas in each city for lodging. Please share your suggestions for both areas of each city and also specific lodgings. We enjoy smaller home B & Bs where one gets to meet and interact w/ the hosts. THANKS!

Cary, > Berlin - Pension Peters (very convenient location for transportation between Savignyplatz and Bahnhof Zoo, comfortable rooms, wonderful staff and some nice restaurants in the area). > Prague - Green Garland Pension (very close to both Old Town and Charles Bridge, comfortable rooms and great staff). > Vienna - I'm sure the others will have some good suggestions. Happy travels!

For inexpensive lodging you might look at vacation rental apartments. You can go basic or luxury and either way its generally a fraction of the cost of a hotel and without sacraficing location for discount.

I'm checking apts in Venice, Paris & London because we've been in those cities before. For the 3 new cities this trip, I think we'd like the help B&B hosts can offer.

Hi Cary! These budget options worked well for us: Berlin - Agree with Ken that Pension Peters is a great choice. Prague - Guesthouse Lida - it's a little out of the city center but the tram is nearby and the hosts are wonderful.
Vienna - Pension Hargita - great location and good value - it's more dorm-like than traditional B & B however.

Prague-Cloister Inn near the Charles Bridge. Free breakfast, internet and coffee in the lobby, and a BEER VENDING MACHINE. That sold me. Plus, a bunch of cute restaurants and taverns nearby. Vienna-Hotel Kummer on Mariahilferstrasse. Right on top of an U-Bahn station and down the street from the Westbahnhof. Also, free breakfast. Berlin-Arcotel Velvet Berlin. On the intersection of Oranienburgerstrasse and Friedrichstrasse. Museuminsel is a 10-minute walk. The U-Bahn station is next door and the S-Bahn stop is right outside. Ever had Singaporean food? There's a restaurant across the street. Plus, free coffee in the AM and apples in your room to take with you. While none of these are B & B's, I found the staff in each extremely helpful.
