I am looking for an inexpensive place to stay in Berlin in March. I can't seem to find many B & B's or pensions on- line.
Any recommendations on these or possibly hostels?

We stayed here this past April. Lots of positive reviews. Rick has stayed there.
I strongly agree with the posting below- Pension Peters is terrific. Centrally located- about a 10 min walk from Banhof Zoo, so very convenient for sight-seeing. Guest rooms are tasteful and VERY clean (and comfortable) and common room where breakfast is served is bright and cheery- great place to meet fellow travelers and share travel tips. Owners- a husband and wife- were very nice and accomodating. And the prices are very reasonable. A real winner of a place in Berlin.
I've stayed at Pension Peters twice and also recommend it highly!
I stayed at Pension Berlin 1a-Apartment. Big rooms, clean, nice, free internet and cheap. Located in East Berlin close to public transportation and great funky little neighborhood. The only downside is that there is no food included and no traditional front desk but the owners were very helpful and let me check in very early and gave me lots of good recommendations. It was really like having your own apartment in Berlin!
Fiona,
I stayed at Hotel Pension Alexandra (55 euro single with bath in the room) but cheaper with shared bath.(www.hotelalexandra.de/) and it is relatively close to Savingnyplatz S-bahn stop. It was quiet with a good variety of cafes in the neighborhood. The Kurfustendamm is just a block and a half away with buses. They don't have a 24-hour desk clerk but were very helpful and even pre-arranged a taxi for a 4 am trip to the airport when I left.
