Berlin- passes!

I need advice on Berlin passes. We will be spending three nights there- arriving on a Saturday afternoon by train and leaving on a Tuesday morning (so we will need public transportation.) We'd like to at least go to the zoo (we are staying at Pension Peters) and go to museum island. Which passes will be the most cost-effective? There will be 2 adults, a 14 year old, a 11 year old, a five year old, and a two year old.

Thanks!

We were in Berlin in March and bought the 3-day Welcome Card for Transportation. As Rick says, "if you plan to cover a lot of ground using public transportation during a two or three day visit this is usually the best transit deal." It's valid for one adult and up to three kids younger than 14. We were there on Easter week-end and the pass was two-for-one on week-ends and holidays so it was a great deal for us. We bought our passes at the airport and the staff was very helpful in making sure that we bought the right pass to meet our needs. We also bought a three-day Museumpass. There are many excellent museums in Berlin and we found this to be a great value. We stayed at Pension Peters and would enjoy staying there again--it's within walking distance of the zoo and has convenient access to the S-Bahn as well. The staff was extremely pleasant, they have a great breakfast and pleasant rooms. You'll enjoy Berlin.
