Hoping maybe someone knows (those living in beautiful Germany?) how much impact the Berlin Marathon has on the city? Planning to be there that day for another event and some walking self tours and wonder if the crowds will be a big issue. Thank you!

Hi Patricia, My husband and I were there last year during the marathon, and YES there were crowds especially around Brandenburg Gate. Day of the Marathon buses were stopped and I think the trams early in the morning only could use the U and S bahn. We left the day of the Marathon and had a difficult time getting to the main train station. I would reconsider being there the day of. Wendy
