I'm trying to decide what to take on my trip to Berlin this fall. I will be in Berlin November 9-14, 2008. I plan to have my Rick Steves backpack packed with just what I need. Has any Graffiti Wall posters been in Berlin during this time period? What type of weather should I expect? Windy? Cold? Snow? Rain? What should be the expected highs during the day and the expected lows during the night? Will the major sights be open with limited hours or do they change the hours for the winter? I will be checking my Rick Steves guidebook soon but I wanted to hear back from fellow Graffitti Wall posters. Your help is greatly appreciated. Happy Travels!
James, the weather could be all of the above - the answer is layer dressing. A dark colored lightweight wool or cashmere turtle neck under a fleece with a wind/water proof jacket with hood, gloves, scarf and warm socks should see you through the coldest days in Berlin. A couple of shirts under the fleece pullover or over the turtleneck or by themselves will be fine for warmer days. The major sights don't curtail their hours much, there's always lots going on.
Thanks for the insights. Your help is greatly appreciated. Happy Travels!
