I am taking a tour the day I arrive in Berlin that requires an AB transit card, so I will be purchasing one.
I was planning on taking the regional express train from Schonefeld to the city; does the AB transit card cover this? I've looked all over but can't find an answer.
If the AB card covers some other way of getting from the airport to the city, I would do that! Any experience with this?
No, Schönefeld airport is outside the city limits and therefore in zone C (zone A = inside the S-Bahn train ring, zone B = between the ring and the city limits, zone C = the neighboring cities and districts in Brandenburg).
If you buy day tickets, you could simply buy a ABC day ticket (6.50 euro) instead of a AB day ticket (6.10 euro).
If you buy week (or month) passes you could use extension C tickets (one use only) for 1.40 euro instead of buying a ABC pass.
