Is Bercy Village worth a visit, or is it really just for hardcore shoppers? Is it actually a village, or is it just a big mall?
It's neither a village nor a big mall but rather a new(er) shopping quarter (shopping quarter, I guess that's the word). Go, it will be fun! And we won't report you to the Political Correctness Police--just think of it as yet another dimension of a truly fascinating city.
During Christmas Bercy Village is incredible - decorated and magical. There is plenty of shopping, restaurants and a huge movie theatre. If you are in the neighborhood - go for it - but I wouldn't necessarily go out of one's way.
Rather than a mall - there are quaint little streets to walk about - thus the village notion. You are outside rather than covered like in Les Halles or Le Dome.
Thanks, guys. We'll be a couple of Métro stops away, so maybe we'll stop by and check it out.
