Belleau Wood/Chateau-Thierry

Hello. We are visiting Paris for 2 weeks in June and my marine husband would very-much like to visit Belleau Wood. Is a tour the best way to go? If so do you know of any? If we can do it on our own, what is the best way to get there? We had not intended to rent a car. Thank-you most kindly

I found this thread on TripAdvisor which I thought my be helpful to you.

If you Google "visit Belleau Wood" a lot of info comes up that will be useful to you. And I'm sure others here will come along with even more helpful info.

I had never heard of it, but it looks very worthwhile and moving.

Hi Stacy. I have a Marine husband too, although his Marine Corps days were many years ago. We went to Belleau Wood after a trip to Paris and Normandy about five years ago. We rented a car when we left Paris. I didn't really look for a tour as we wanted to rent a car for Normandy anyway. But I never ran across any in my research either. It's really not that heavily visited. However, my husband just loved it. I enjoyed it too, but not as much as him, of course. If you would consider renting a car, I can tell you it's very easy driving.
