If you're planning on renting a car in Brussels, Belgium and drpping it off in France, be sure you know the drp-off fee - it's usually quite high. The other option is to train to Rouen (or anywhere else in France) and rent the car there. Perhaps return it in Caen; the car rental offices are directly across the street from the train station (use Google Street View to check that out). Any particular reason for taking the bus and not the train to Versailles? Ouch - things gets a bit hairy for me after Paris...doable, I suppose. Have you been to these places in Spain before? That's a lot of moving around... *I'm not allowed to use the work 'drp'...THAT'S new...

Barcelona to Madrid 3+ hours via AVE train.
Madrid to Toledo 12 hour via AVE train. You will not have time to see Toledo on this time frame. Would spend more time in Madrid and save Toledo for another trip.

Your schedule is way too aggressive.

HJ , it only takes about a half hour by train to go from Madrid to Toledo. The total time from Barcelona to Toledo with a transfer at Madrid Atocha should take about 5 hours of travel time. Brendon, this is trip that on one hand will put alot of real estate under your feet, on the other you will be spending more time traveling than really spending anytime seeing anything.
