Any feedback on dinner actors at medieval "Breughel" dinner? Not sure if it's worth the extra cost for the actors to "animate" the meal. I'm with a group near Corsendonk priory near border with Netherlands.
Sorry, no data. Turnhout is a nice place to visit if not worth a special trip. It has a gorgeous little Begijnhof, with a good museum, and a small castle, now an office. You can get coffee and cake in the senior center built into the Begijnhof. There are a couple of gourmet restaurants by the town square (excellent woodcarvings in the church), an art-deco town hall, and a few fancy restaurants (some described as historic) in the near suburbs. I've been to Bistro Het Meulderke, (in town, Cash Only?) Steenweg Op Mol 40 (great red meat from France) and Savoury (private mansion dining just barely walkable from downtown, near the Janssen Pharma plant). Neither of these is open even six days. I'm sorry I haven't been to the corporate art gallery near Turnhout, probably only by car. Best waffels in town, Het Wafelhuis, Victoriestraat 47. Den Spytighen Duvel, Otterstraar 99. Renowned pub with 150 beers. Lower budget, charming Italian, Il Vicoletto on Bloemkensgang shopping passage. Don't miss the erotic Adam and Eve sculpture in the shopping district, by Luc van Soom.
Thanks for the information on Turnhout. We'll be at a seminar for 3 days at the Priory Corsendonk - I'll try to slip into town on a free afternoon. Ginger
