Bed and Breakfasts on the beach? French Riviera

I will be traveling with a family of 4 and need 2 rooms, but the hotel rates I've checked on are really high. Anyone know of a B&B that is right on the beach? I'll be traveling in June next summer.

I suspect that any homes "on the beach" in the French Riviera are owned by the very wealthy and are not likely to be taking in paying guests. There are plenty of small hotels in most Riviera locations away from the beach area that are reasonably priced (depending on one's understanding of "reasonable") so you may have to settle for one of those. Try Lavandou, not so trendy as other spots but close to them. Check it out on a map.

Joanne, I remembered the name of a sweet hotel (ith a pool) we found just above Lavandou, with a pathway down to the beach. The name of it is Le Mas, (Hotel le Mas) and if you google "lavandou, france" and click onto either of the first 2 listings (Bienvenue a Lavandou ,or Welcome to Lavandou) you will get a listing of hotels. Le Mas is on the list and you can see photos & rates and contact info. 70 euro seems the top price for a double in June. I can't find an actual website for the hotel.

Thank you so much! It sounds perfect. I knew someone out there would help me find it.

All I can say is after 2 weeks in Europe my husband and I were going to spend our last 3 days in the French Riviera. It was so crowded we left after 15 hours, never to return. Yes it's beautiful but be aware that the traffic in Nice and up to Monaco in June makes South Beach traffic look like a deserted island.

Le Lavandou is well west of Nice, west of St. Tropez, close to Antibes. There is excellent train service from Antibes all along to Menton & Ventemiglia, so road traffic needn't be a problem, unless one is bound and determined to use a car.

3 years ago we stayed at Hotel La Jabotte in Antibes. Lovely B&B. It was reasonably priced for the area and easy location to everything - short walk to the beach (about 2 blocks), 15 minute walk to "Old Antibes" village and train. Google them for the website and where to get good rates. Good reviews currently on TripAdvisor.com. Have also stayed at Hotel La Garoupe-La Gardiole on Cap d'Antibes - it is not so near to the beach but has a nice pool. We have also stayed in St. John Cap Ferrat; beautiful, but it was too remote for our taste. Antibes is our favorite location and we have chosen it for our family of 4 the past 3 trips.
