My mother is a Para-educator and only has time off in the summer, so we can't go to Europe in the off season. How can we beat the crowds in the summer in Paris, Berner Oberland and Barcelona?? Thanks!!

Don't worry about "crowds" in the Berner Oberland. It doesn't get crowded like a museum would. Well, the slopes can get congested in the winter, but in the summer? There'll be a steady flow of people on the hiking trails and cable cars, but nothing that you can describe as "crowded".

First, you cannot. We have been in education all our lives. The best solution we found was to go as early as we could. Fortunately our district is out the last week of May which meant that we were often on the plane the next day. One year we make a mistake and actually left three days before school was out - understanding principal. And there is the Thanksgiving break or Spring break that can be stretched a bit.
