My 15 year old wants a beach day on our 2 1/2 week trip to Madrid, Barcelona, San Sebastian, Lore Valley, and Paris. Should I rent a car for a beach day north of Barcelona or just keep it to San Sebastian? I was looking at Bidart, between San Sebastian and Barriatz. FYI: We are Floridians and our beaches are white sand but I do not mind a pebble beach - but she might!
Also most of our travel will be by train but we can do buses or rent a car for a short while.
I have no idea when you plan to travel, but northern Spanish beaches don't warm up until fairly late into the season. And didn't you ask this same question earlier?
The water in the Bay of Biscay gives you an acute case of blue lips in five minutes in August.
St. Jean de Luz has a nice sandy beach plus the town itself is lovely.
So sorry if this listed twice - did not appear first time I wrote it.
Anyway.... thank you for the tips. It sounds like the water will still be cold in mid-June.
