BCN&Provence area-Is it necessary to reserve rooms in early Oct

2 couples flying to BCN first,for 3 days(we have reservations) SUN-WED then flying to Marseilleto Aix-en-Provence area.We have reservations for 2 days in Provence need 2 more nights and also 3 more nites in BCN when we fly back. ?? Can we wing it or should we reserve now?
