Bayeux restaurants

We (family of 4 w/ 2 teens) will be in Bayeux later this month. We are looking for restaurant suggestions. It will be our 1st night in France and we will be celebrating a birthday. Looking for some place nice but not formal. Thanks!

Tamara, As you're celebrating a special occasion, I would highly recommend Restaurant Le Pommier. It's not cheap, but the food and atmosphere are fantastic (as I recall, there was a nice fireplace, which added to the ambiance). I must add one word of caution though - it's not a good idea read the Menus on the website as you'll be temped to make reservations today!!! Happy travels!

Try La Rapiere on rue St. Jean. We've eaten there twice over the last few years and love it. Great atmosphere and fantastic food. Not cheap, but well worth it!

I agree with Ken about Le Pommier. What a nice place to celebrate a birthday on your first night in France.

Thanks for the suggestions, they both look great. Wondering if nice jeans and a collared shirt will be appropriate dress? It will be hard to get my boys into anything more formal!

Pommier isn't a dressy restaurant. The clothing you suggest is fine. The kids would be fine in even a t-shirt.
