Have you tried Hotel d'Argouges? We've stayed there 4 times and really love it. It's in Rick's France book.

Loved the Hotel Churchill -- also in Rick's France book.

We stayed 2 nights at the Logis des Remparts in Bayeux and loved it. It is a long walk from the train station but doable. I was 64 at the time and had no problem on the walk with luggage.

I was in the same boat last fall - No Rooms! PANIC!

We stayed at Hotel le Maupassant (they have 4 rooms available right now for your nights). Fancy, it's not. Clean, yes. And it beat sleeping on the sidewalk LOL! Our room, a little tired and very plain, had a sink in the room with a separate toilet and a shower down the hall (some have full baths). I had absolutely no problem with the arrangements; there were only 4 rooms on our floor, and at least one of them had a full bath in their room - no problems sharing. It's in the middle of town, too. Very convenient.

Again, it won't be your dream hotel, but if you are open and your standards aren't too high, it was fine. AND it was the ONLY hotel available -- I looked at EVERY hotel in Bayeux. EVERY hotel! And it's for 2 nights.

Parking may be tricky, I gathered from the reviews (but didn't really read them), but if you're doing a Battlebus tour the location is great.

GOOD LUCK!

Have you tried the Churchill? If you can get in there you can't beat the central location and nice setting, bags of parking.

All stairs, no lifts, but you can stop on the stairs and look at the photos of the liberation....

we loved it

I know I have recommended the Hotel de St. Croix on the forum a few times, but will go ahead and recommend it again. We found it be absolutely perfect and the price was very good. We also stayed in the Logis de Ramparts and though it was nice, I had asked for a specific room because it was our anniversary, but ended up with a different one. The bed was very uncomfortable, but the location was lovely, right across from a large park and just a few min. from the cathdral.

Considering both places were the same price per night, the Hotel de St. Croix wins hands down. Breakfast was a 100 times better too, with a delicious assortment of home-made treats, while the Logis de Ramparts served the worst coffee I have ever had in my life and only had some croissant with apple jellies.

We also stayed at the B&B Logis des Remparts in Bayeux. We thoroughly enjoyed it and were also able to do the Battlebus tour (American Highlights). I would highly recommend it if you will be in Bayeux.

Hotel d'Argouges was lovely for the four nights I stayed. Room was spacious, clean, quiet, the breakfast fresh and tasty, and the hotel location, very convenient.
