Bayern tickets questions

I hope you can commment if this is a good plan for the initial Munich part of our trip. We are a family of 4 adults. We are landing in Munich airport at 530am on a Friday , Oct 25. will Buy the Airport-day partner ticket for a day trip around Munich - Marienplatz, Viktualienmarkt, Hofbrauhaus (can we squeeze Dachau in?) Late afternoon , train to Fussen (should we get a Bayern ticket at the airport too?) ; overnight in Fussen to get a headstart the following day Oct 26 Saturday, see Neuchwanstein and Hohenswangau
Buy another Bayern ticket(can we get this in Fussen or should we get it when we land as well? ) back to Munich late afternoon, to Munich HbF and onward to Salzburg on the same Bayern ticket. Arrive evening in Salzburg. From thereon we will go to Salz and Vienna.

Lee, does the Bayern-Ticket cover BRB (Bayerische Regio Bahn) as well? Next month we arrive at the Munich airport and will take the trains to Dießen, on the west side of the Ammersee. It appears we will be on S-8 from the airport to Pasing, then S-4 or regional from Pasing to Geltendorf, then BRB to Dießen. It would be great if one ticket will cover the whole trip. Thanks.

You're landing in Munich at 530 AM, want to tour Munich (Marienplatz, Viktualienmarkt, Hofbrauhaus, Dachau) then go on to Füssen for the night. Assuming you'll have flown overnight to get to Munich (from where?), you might find you just want to get to Füssen to crash. Viktualienmarkt and the Hofbräuhaus are right around Marienplatz, so you can probably fit that in, but Dachau is a 40 or so minute trip from Marienplatz. I'm not saying you can't do it, but expect that you might not feel up to it. Also note that the last English guided tour at Dachau is at 1 PM and lasts 2½ hrs. If you are getting a Bayern-Ticket to go on to Füssen that day, you don't need an MVV Tageskarte as well. The Bayern-Ticket will cover all of your public transportation in Munich as well as the trip to Füssen. You can get the Bayern-Ticket at the airport, from a ticket automat on the S-Bahn station platform or from the Bahn ticket counter in the MAC above the station (an additional 2€ for personal service). You can get the 2nd Bayern-Ticket at the station in Füssen, from the ticket automat or at the ticket counter, again for 2€ more. You could also get it at the airport if you wanted to. Just make sure you get it for the right date, as Bayern-Tickets are date-stamped and not exchangeable. The ticket counter in the Füsssen Bahnhof is open M-F, 8:40-17:10 (closed 13:15-14:15 for lunch), but closed Sa and Su. If you are staying in Hohenschwangau and riding the bus to the Füssen Bhf in the morning (covered by the Bayern-Ticket), you can probably buy the Bayern-Ticket from the bus driver, but exact change might be required. As long as you take a regional train (RE) from Munich to Salzburg, the entire trip, including from the German border to Salzburg HB is covered by the Bayern-Ticket, but local transportation in Salzburg is not covered.

Yes, the Bayern-Ticket will cover your trip, including the part on the Bayerische Regio Bahn. Use the German Rail (Bahn) website to find schedules. The quickest route appears to depend on when you leave the Flughafen. Sometimes the fastest way might be through Geltendorf, sometimes through Weilheim. Note, the S8 goes entirely through downtown Munich, Ostbahnhof to Pasing, and you can catch the S4 or S6 at any station. But you can only catch a regional train at the Hbf, Donnersbergerbrücke, or Pasing.
