I am renting a house near Regensburg (stalwang) in the bavarian forest for 10 days this sept. I am interested in days trips within a 1.5-2 hr radius from the house. Any suggestions would be very helpful. Does anyone have favorite towns along the "glassroad"? Thank you

Nuernberg is about an hour away by regional train.
Passau is an hour and a half away by regional train.
Bamberg is normally 2 hours away by regional train. Until Sept 15, they will be doing track work and using a bus shuttle from Nuernberg to Bamberg, and it will take longer.
Those times are from Regensburg Hbf.
