After our trip to the Romantic Road we will be heading to the GaP area. Any suggestions if we should stay in GaP or Mittenwald for New Years.We will be there Dec 29-3. Which town and any HOTEL suggestions, pleaaaassse. Thanks.

Lots of luck! I went to Germany a few years ago for Sylvester (that's what they call New Years). I made my reservations in June and every room at the Pension was already booked. The owner could only put me up at his sisters house a half mile away. He had a complete dinner party that night in the dining room. He did manage to accommodate me for that.
If you have trouble finding anything at all, PM me. I can give you the name for an apartment in a private home two blocks from the Bahnhof. Can't guarentee a vacancy, though.
