Bavaria/Austria Floodings

Here are some guidelines for those of you who's travel to Bavaria or Austria is imminent. There is no connection between Munich and Salzburg. It's all flooded and both roads and rail lines are interrupted. Passau is experiencing the worst flooding since Medieval times, it's been reported. The Danube valley, too, is heavily flooded and a trip to Wachau doesn't make sense until at least late in June. Also the weather in the flooded areas is - grey and rainy. Northern Germany is fine though, sunny, mild... The Black Forrest is fine as well. Avoid the Rhine river valley as this is where all the water from South-West will have to go through sooner or later. Already the river front walks in most places like Mainz, Speyer are flooded. The East of Saxony is fine, the Medieval cities of Zittau, Bautzen, even Dresden are all clear. However, since Prague is experiencing very high waters these days the water will have to pass Dresden in a couple of days.

Thanks for posting some more info Andreas. The Main is overflowing a bit in Frankfurt & Hoechst, but not too much yet. Nothing like the Neckar and the Danube.
