Battlebus (Bayeux)

I have all my plans and dates for a Sept 09 trip. I will only be in Bayeux on 9/10 & 9/11 and have tried to make a reservation for a two day American tour with Battlebus. I originally had another person going and they confirmed my dates for the tour. When my friend cancelled, I changed to one person with Battlebus. This was all done in Jan and they cancelled me because they will not do a tour with one person. I have even opted to go on one tour on the 10th and a different tour on the 11th. All they will say is we have you on a list and if anyone else books for those days we can add you to the tour. Should I be concerned at this point and look for another tour company or just sit tight until time gets closer? Normandy is a major interest to me and don't want to miss tours for the two days I have there. Last resort is, I could pay for two people to get the tour I want but that would be 300 euros.

Tony,

It's somewhat understandable that they wouldn't conduct a tour for only one person, as they'd be losing money on it.

Booking a September tour in January is a bit difficult, as that's too far in the future. September is usually quite busy so it's quite likely that more people will sign up for the tour and your problem will be solved. For now I'd probably wait a month or so and then check back with them.

Good luck!

I would just wait. I booked Battlebus for 1 person and was never questioned about it - it was the 1 day tour. The bus was full - 8 people total. I'm sure yours will fill up. It's totally worth it - it was a great tour, wish I did the 2 day tour

We did a Battlebus tour last summer and it was fantastic - one of the major highlights of our entire trip. We had six of us so no problem with the numbers, but persevere and hopefully it will work out for you!

Hang in there, Tony, and keep checking back with them. Often. We took the two day American tour last summer...the BEST part of our trip. Those tours fill up, so don't give up.
