I'm going to be in Basel for a day and a half in early December staying at the Best Western Stuecki. It is located at 1 Badenstrasse. Is this close to the center of town? I am interested in visiting the Christmas Market in the Barfusserplatz. If not close, what is the best way to get there - taxi? bus? Thank you.

I was surprised to see that walking instructions weren't mentioned in the "Sticky" How To Get There topic at the top. But Google Maps is very good at this. It's not in the center of the city but it looks like it's a short walk to one of the tram lines: http://g.co/maps/wda7b I had a good stay at this place, and it's a short walk from the main pedestrian shopping street (Barfusserplatz): http://g.co/maps/m3m98
