Barcelona with 10 year old

For those of you who visited Barcelona with children, what were your children's favorite experiences? I'm suffering from input-overload---so much to see in 4 days! Thank you for your suggestions of what absolutely to do----or what absolutely not to do! Thanks. SuzieeQQ

My kids loved anything Gaudi related. We took the Runner Bean Tours Gaudi tour and the kids loved it. We also did their Old City Tour, but they didn't like it nearly as much as DH and I did. Park Guell on a nice day is a must-do with kids, Casa Milo and Casa Batllo are both neat as well (and expensive LOL!). We bought stuff for a picnic at the Carrefour Market on Las Ramblas before heading on the bus to Park Guell and it made for a fabulous afternoon. My kids also liked the view from the roof of the Cathedral. We only had two days in Barcelona, but I would have added a trip to Montserrat if we'd had more.

My kids liked medieval, water and hiking. In Barcelona that would probably translate to the beach and maybe the fountains at Montjuic (water), the old quarter (medieval), and Montserat (hiking/medieval). My boys liked castles; Montjuic doesn't quite fill that niche, hopefully you will also travel elsewhere in Spain. My daughter loved museums. It's always best to ask your kids what they want to see. When I asked my boys what they wanted to see, they said, "Castles." When I asked, "Restored or ruins?" They said, "Ruins."
