We will be in Barcelona for 5 days before a cruise. I am trying to decide which neighborhood is the "best" to stay in, ie. safest, walking distance to Las Rambla, shops, restaurants...
I am looking for an apartment/condo for 4 of us. Thanks
Stay close to Placa Cataluyna and you right in the center of everything---the top of Las Ramblas, excellent metro and bus connections, close to the broad streets of the Eixemple and the Gaudi sights. And it felt very safe to us walking around at all hours. You are also close to the wonderful grocery store in the basement of el Cortes Ingles. You might start with this apartment on Passeig de Gracia, just off Placa Catalunya in the Eixemple: http://www.sixtyfourapartments.com/?lang=en
Please see my recent posting/suggestions in the area to stay in Barcelona topic from a couple months ago. Eixample is the best area, in my opinion. Saludos, MadridMan - AND BarcelonaMan - @ you-know-where!
