I'm interested in doing a guided walking tour of Barcelona's Barri Gotic, or maybe something focused on modernisme. Can anyone recommend a company or guide that provides good tours? I was looking at the web sites for Runner Bean Tours and Walking Planets so far. Thanks for your help!
The 2-hour Gothic Quarter tour the city of Barcelona conducts - in English - is pretty good. I took it last year and found it very interesting. Go to http://www.barcelonaturisme.com/ and click the link in the right side which reads "Barcelona Walking Tours Gòtic" for more information (in English). Enjoy Barcelona! I know you will. Saludos, BarcelonaMan AND MadridMan @ you-know-where!
Would you consider a bike tour? We did one with Fat Tire and loved it - spent some time in the Barri Gotic, and also some time seeing some of the Gaudi sights. And then planned the next couple of days based on what we wanted to go back to.
A few months ago my family did the two Runner Bean tours. We all really, reallly enjoyed the Gaudi tour. Our guide was very knowledgeable and we walked away with interesting little tidbits, as well as pictures of the insides and a good overview of his life. I think it helped us have more appreciation for the sites we went back and toured on our own. We liked it so much we went for the Old City tour. My husband and I really enjoyed this tour as well. My kids weren't in to it as much. It went at a bit slower pace, as it was more focused on the history. Still, I would highly recommend it.
