We're staying in Spain for a night before we get on a cruise. We don't know which areas are safe for walking to our hotel at night and is still close to the port and airport. A hotel recommendation would be great too!
Probably the most ideal area is Las Ramblas. It's the main tourist area & very close to the port. Some friends stayed at the Meridian, but I think it's pretty pricey. Check out the hotels in that area. My best tip for Barcelona is the Flamenco show at LOS TARANTOS. It's in Plaça Reial (17 Barri Gòtic) right off La Rambla. It's on 6E for the approx 30 minute show & very authentic. An exceptional value. We loved it.

Thanks! I've bookmarked the website! I thought Las Ramblas might be fun, just didn't know if it was a safe area. Do you think it's ok for two women at night?
Yes it is safe at night, actually pretty crowded but I would just not wander off too far into unknown areas which is true of every city.
