Barcelona - Lisbon - Madrid in mid October

We are flying into Barcelona and out of Madrid.
Will appreciate your input, especially if you happened to be in Spain or Lisbon this past October.

1.-Is mid October too late in the year, or border line, to enjoy decent weather (rain) and attractions in Barcelona/Madrid & Lisbon?
2.-any festivities in these cities that may make it worth it going in early October or late September instead?
3.-Inexpensive transportation from Barcelona to Lisbon
Thanks a lot!

Have not done Madrid, however, Lisbon and Barcelona's weather was gorgeous when we did them 2 years ago in mid-October.

I'd look into Barc > Mad > Lis, might be easier than Barc > Lis > Mad, depending on how you go.

Wow, you guys are owesome, two replies already within minutes of posting. I may consider BCN-MAD-LIS, makes sence distance wise. Airfare is dirt cheap between Madrid & Lisbon, but not the case between Barcelona and Lisbon.

I flew into Madrid and took the train to Lisbon and then Santiago de Compostela, rented a car and drove along the north coast to San Sebastian and then down to Barcelona. It was in October, several years ago, and the weather was wonderful, not more than a couple of days of rain. As for festivals, I recall running into a few in small towns and villages along the way, saints days and such, but I think that's likely to happen any time you travel in Europe.

If you want to go to BCN, check Spainair. The round trip air fares were great and the planes were new. It worked out great for us; shuttle from BCN airport to Catalunya Plaza near our hotel.
