A friend of mine is leaving tomorrow for England and will be going on to Barcelona the last week of November. What is there to do? Does it close down for the winter? She is a single female traveling alone. She has been too busy with work to plan. HELP!!! She'll be checking this site as she travels. Thanks. I know I can count on many of you.

I haven't been to Barcelona in November, but I've been to Valencia and southern Spain in the winter months and there's always plenty to do, so I'm sure she'll be fine. It can get chilly, though.

I am also spending the last week of November in Barcelona, and have read up a lot on the city and surrounding areas. I was in Madrid at the same time a couple of years ago and the weather was perfect, so I am optimistic about Barcelona which I think, from the travel books I've read, has a lot more to offer.
